Mountain hike from Ofterschwang to the Ofterschwanger Horn

From the parking (free of charge) at the valley station of the World Cup Express in Ofterschwang, the path leads past the kindergarten and the primary school. Behind, with the path tothe left uphill is the "Wurzelhütte" - a nice terrace, a great indoor, petting animals and delicious food (small tip: fresh trout in the summer ). Continue uphill to Hochbichlhütte. This rustic cottage offers womething unique: Sofas in the open to relax and sunbath and it is very popular with tourists and locals - a good host, great view and for the little ones a playground and a few petting animals. From here a path leads a short steeper part through the forest. Follow the path up to the left to the Weltcuphütte at the mountain station of World Cup Express. A very nice and large wooden terrace with a panoramic view invites you to delicious food, coffee and cakes and sunbathing. The trail continues on the east side around the Ofterschwanger Horn. Shortly after the Hornalpe (no stop-over) one can take the little detour to the right to the summit cross of the Ofterschwanger Horn. The view is worth it! Take the small descent to the south side - in front of you is the Sigiswanger Horn with the Fahnengehren Alpe, which provides small snacks and refreshments. The circular route around the Ofterschwanger Horn leads us on the west side with a view into the Gunzesrieder valley and the Nagelfluhkette (mountain range) back to the mountain station. Follow the path down to the Alpe Eck (Familotel Allgäuer Berghof - no stop-over possible). At the small stand of the Disc Golf course, the Panorama Trail leads you back to the valley station. The Schlitte Hitte and the Pizzeria Cortina at the valley station are also great places to stop for drinks and food, or you can visit the ice cream parlor in Ofterschwang - delicious homemade ice cream from our precious alpine milk!
